Once an organization makes the decision to proceed with a proposed project, a project manager must be selected or assigned to lead the project effort throughout its life cycle, making sure that the project is properly planned, effectively implemented, and efficiently completed. In this capacity, the project manager will also be expected to alternately advise, support, guide, and collaborate with the various members of the assembled project team. The project team will typically comprise a diverse group of key stakeholders from across the various functional areas of the organization, so it is the expected role of the project manager to act as the team’s primary leader, facilitator, and communicator.
This week, you will reflect on what it means to be an effective project manager and consider how a project team can achieve success when performing a project. You will also examine the elemental process groups that the Project Management Institute has identified for the management of projects; the specific knowledge areas that map to each of these process groups; and the PMBOK-defined principles and practices that support each phase of the project life cycle. In addition, you will be introduced to a key initiation phase project document—the project charter.

If no, explain why and support your reasoning with two examples of how Dr. Splient does not effectively reflect the professional competencies, the interpersonal skills, and/or the expected functional roles of a successful project manager.
2) Do you think that the project team (i.e., the ALF Project Steering Committee) assembled by Dr. Splient is a potentially effective one? Why or why not? Support your reasoning with two examples of how the assembled team either is or is not characteristic of a successful project team.
3) If you could add one other key player from the organization to the assembled project team, would you? If so, who would you add and why? If you would not add anyone else to the project team, why
